Graphic and Fashion Design Intern - AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY!

As a design intern, your responsibilities will include working with the Creative Director to design, develop and produce fashion concepts, client presentations and marketing materials.

  • Create fashion flats based on creative direction (in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop)
  • Develop presentation, catalog, line list and/or brochure layouts (in Microsoft PowerPoint or Adobe Illustrator)
  • Produce and send out e-blasts using Constant Contact
  • Design, prepare and print postcards, flyers, signage, in-store visuals and web images
  • Revise work in an efficient and detailed manner
  • Organize and track projects, samples and documentation
  • Manage additional projects as assigned

 
Successful candidates should have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Interactive Design, or related field
  • Working knowledge of industry standard programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of presentation layout, flat illustrations, logo development, branding, color theory and typography in both print and digital
  • Strong graphic design skills and the ability to produce print-ready and internet-ready graphics
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Ability to conceptualize and implement ideas
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Work independently as well as in teams
  • Excellent communication skills; verbal, written and interpersonal
  • Flexible to changing demands with the ability to manage multiple projects and work independently in a fast-paced business environment

Production Assistant Intern - AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY

As a production assistant intern, your responsibilities will include working with the production and sourcing manager and the assistant technical designer on product development, sourcing and the manufacturing processes.   

  • Assist in processing, organizing and tracking outgoing orders
  • Generate accurate specifications for individual garments
  • Assist in maintaining quality standards throughout fit and pattern analysis, including development of appropriate construction methods
  • Assist in monitoring and tracking critical product development calendar milestones
  • Assist in managing data for weekly production meetings, including production work in progress
  • Assist in first sample production and quality to meet short term critical deadlines
  • Manage additional projects as assigned

Successful candidates should have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • General understanding of technical design skills, including apparel CAD systems (i.e. OptiTex, Gerber or Lectra), pattern design, made-to-measure, and marker making
  • Graphic design skills including Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
  • Strong communication, organization and computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to prioritize and work multiple deadlines and handle several tasks at one time
  • Excellent dependability, follow through, and a strong focus on accuracy of work
  • Works independently as well as in teams
  • General understanding in basic fit and pattern making skills
  • Knowledge of apparel construction and components
  • Ability to sew and work on detailed oriented garments
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent follow-through skills
  • Ability to proactively identify, analyze and problem solve
  • Excellent communication skills; verbal, written and interpersonal
  • Flexible to changing demands with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced business environment
